About

You spoke and we listened.  The popularity of the Library’s recent Writers Workshops inspired the creation of the Mill Valley Public Library’s Writers Salon.  The Salon includes expanded programs, services and resources for writers. With a new Writers Drop-In and Playwriting Group, the offerings for writers just keep getting better.  Take a writing or playwriting workshop, seek support and help from peers or take advantage of our resources and a quiet space to write.

  1. I’d like to reserve two seats to the upcoming Playwright’s Lab play reading at 6:30 on June 20 at the Mill Valley library. If there’s someone else I need to contact, please email me.
Thank you very much. MJ Roberts

  2. I came to the salon today/Wed Dec 10, but I didn’t see anyone. I plan to attend again next Wednesday afternoon at 3p – Does anyone else plan on attending? Please call me: 415 388 4679(home), 814 777 6102 (cell for mssgs)

    • Thanks for your comment, Rebecca, and for attending the writers drop-in. We are working on building participation, but it seems that people keep missing each other. I hope you will attend again. We will be promoting the drop-in in our upcoming brochure which will hopefully bring in more writers.

  3. I’m a regular at the Mill Valley Writers Drop In on Wednesdays and Fridays. The group now generally gathers about six people, with newcomers showing up every now and then and always welcome. The Third Wednesday of the month when the meeting place shifts to the History Room tends to draw fewer people.

    • Thanks so much for your feedback, Kate. I am thrilled that this writers group is really coming together–fantastic! In terms of the third Wednesday room switch, this has been an ongoing issue. Please know that we are working to find an alternate space for the other group, so that the writers group can meet consistently in the same location. Unfortunately, space is very limited in the Library. I will keep you posted as soon as the situation is resolved, hopefully sooner rather than later.
